Kronotex at Bau 2005
Floors for all the Senses
Quality, design and price are the criteria
dealers, installers and architects apply in
judging the products exhibited at the construction
trade show “Bau 2005” in Munich. Among the
exhibitors of flooring products, KRONOTEX, the
leading producer of laminate flooring based in
Heiligengrabe, Germany, is setting new standards
with its innovative collection featuring new
designs and the very latest in production
technology.
“Bau 2005” is Europe’s top
trade show for the construction industry. In its
appearance there, Kronotex Fussboden GmbH &
Co. KG, a member of the Swiss Krono Group, is
devoting itself to the new sensuality of our
times. “Seeing, Feeling, Hearing” is the motto of
its exhibition of beautiful and resilient flooring
and other innovations for dealers in Hall B 6,
Stand 318. With its various collections ranging in
thickness from six to twelve millimeters and
featuring new designs and textures, this
manufacturer from the German state of Brandenburg
offers just the right flooring for any requirement
and application.
Quality You Can
See, Feel and Hear The presentation
showcases the new “Engineered Flooring”
collection. Behind this somewhat dry technical
name is a flooring innovation with strong
emotional appeal. KRONOTEX combines a totally
coordinated embossed grain pattern with a warm,
matt luster and carefully machined V-groove to
lend Engineered Flooring the typical visual
appearance of prestigious wooden floorboards. But
the visual beauty of these floors is not their
only compelling trait. You not only see this
quality with your eyes, you can also feel it with
your hands and feet. With a thickness of ten
millimeters, the sturdy Engineered Flooring
elements provide a walking feel and sound
sensation comparable to those of solid wood
floorboards. It is this harmonious interplay of
appearance, feel and acoustics that makes this
beautiful yet highly resilient and low-maintenance
flooring a trendsetter for demanding domestic and
industrial applications.
New
Naturalness in Design and Color
KRONOTEX is also presenting
fashionable new designs in its established
collections. What is so striking is the natural
appearance and authentic reproduction achieved
here. Besides oak, an ideal choice for a rustic
interior, the range of current designs is
dominated by exotic woods like Jatoba (Brazilian
cherry) and Bajam teak as well as several versions
of maple and beech. The coloring of the new
designs is impressively natural. Dark hues are
found mostly in the exotic woods. Larch is the
contemporary choice for those who prefer lighter
flooring. “Lived-on” floors are another
popular choice. Subtle defects like cracks and
knot-holes or signs of wear lend the flooring an
authentic look and a deeper texture. You have the
impression they have been walked on for
generations.
Quiet, Quieter, Sound
Design Sound Design is KRONOTEX’s
effective sound-absorbing sub-flooring. It reduces
footfall sound and the propagation of sound within
a room while increasing walking comfort. Moreover,
Sound Design levels out slight irregularities in
the floor to create a perfectly level surface.
This integrated sound-absorbing layer is available
on request for the laminate collections Dynamic
Clic, Robusto Clic, Mega Clic and Isilock as well
as for the new Engineered Flooring collection.
Further Expansion of Production
Capacity KRONOTEX expanded the
capacity of its Brandenburg factory yet again in
December 2004 by adding a further production
installation. The entire range can be produced on
this highly flexible machine fitted incorporating
state-of-the-art technology. It guarantees a high
output of consistent top quality regardless of
dimensions. For example, every single panel is
visually checked and measured within fractions of
a second. Any panel not within the tolerance
ranges is automatically removed. The panels are
palletized in a fully automatic process handled by
industrial robots. Parallel to this, new
short-cycle coating installations were put into
operation. They emboss the fully coordinated
grains into the panel surfaces and are thus
designed to produce this increasingly important
feature of top quality laminate floors. Much
narrower tolerance ranges in applying the design
paper deliver an even better result and do so in
shorter cycle times. The vertical integration and
enlarged capacity in production and coating allow
KRONOTEX to respond to special customer requests
even more flexibly and quickly at every stage of
production, from thinnings straight from the
forest to the finished panels. Our goal is to
offer our customers in the important German market
products that set new standards in quality, design
and price. We also have plans to expand our sales
and distribution world-wide and develop new
markets.
Optimized
Logistics KRONOTEX has optimized its
logistics by building a high-bay warehouse. The
30-meter high facility accommodates 19,000 Euro
pallets. As a result, various products are more
readily available and can be delivered more
quickly to the customers we currently serve in 80
different countries around the globe. Storage and
loading is done fully automatically, virtually
eliminating damage to panels.
Laminated Flooring Production
